In the book Be A Perfect Person In Just Three Days by Stephen Manes. The main idea is Milo want to be perfect person. Milo is clumsy because he was not looking and a book hit him on the head. He is also not paying attention because when he had to the grocery store, the groceries all fell out. Dr. Silverfish is goofy because he has goofy clothes. First, Milo went to the library and a book fell on his head. His parents were being rude to him and his parents picked on him. Next, he read a chapter in the book Be A Perfect Person in Just Three Days and he realized the author is a crazy guy named Dr. Silverfish. After that, Milo was told him to wear broccoli. Finally, Dr. Silverfish knows a lot about Milo reading heavy books.

Have you ever had a annoying sister? You will like this book because in the book, Milo’s big sister is annoying to Milo because she keeps on calling Milo names and she bugs Milo. “Plus, him and his sister fought to see who got to use the bathroom first.” If you have ever felt dumb you will relate to Milo because he feels dumb when he had to wear a stalk of broccoli around his neck for the whole day.

If you like Alexander and the No Good, Very Bad, Horrible Day by Judith Viorst, then you will like Be a Perfect Person in Just Three Days by Stephen Manes because in both books Alexander and Be a Perfect Person both characters had a bad, bad day. Alexander got pushed in the mud. Milo got bullied by George. They are also similar because in both books Alexander got bullied by his brother and Milo’s sister bullied him too.

Stephen Manes is a great author because he has two books in one.

  1. Hi Erick,
I really like your review of the book. I like the way you connect to the audience by asking if they've had an annoying sister -- many people have! Great job, and I hope you keep enjoying to read!

  2. Erick,
I can relate to this book because I have an annoying sister. Although, I will admit, sisters get better over time. Once they grow up a little bit, then they aren't as annoying anymore. In fact, you might even become friends with her after a while! Haha! Imagine that!

I liked your essay because you made the book sound like something I would totally want to read again. Thanks, Erick!

    Keep up the good work,

  3. Erick,

The way that you asked a question to a reader in the second paragraph was very clever. It pulled me in to your writing (because I could relate), and I couldn't wait to find out more.

I was also quite impressed by the text-to-self connection you made about "feeling dumb." I'm a teacher, but I still definitely feel that way a lot of the time, so I will certainly be reading this book.

    You are getting it done!

  4. Hi Erick,

That was a great summary of the book! I have read Alexander and the No Good, Very Bad, Horrible Day. Maybe I'll read this one and like it just as much.

You gave some great things the reader could relate to. Makes me want to read it even more.
